I've hit yet ANOTHER SNAG in the release of Indebted. The cover is not ready. This will probably push the RELEASE OF INDEBTED to the FIRST WEEK OF APRIL 2012. I apologize to all of you who've been waiting for months for this. I'm not happy about it, but I understand that when mistakes are made the best thing to do is fix them and move on because just like in GET IT DADDY by SLEEPER AGENT: "I'M NOT A BABY NO MORE" EITHER · Here are the details for the cover: CreateSpace sent me the cover mock-up after 5:00 p.m. on 3/21/12 (which was Wednesday). I was scared to open it because I wanted it to be perfect. I said a small prayer and then I peeked. It was perfect...perfectly wrong and I thought at first it might be a joke—more like a prank. The cover was great, there was only one small problem: it was the EXACT SAME COVER as INTUITION—trees, red feather—except it says Indebted on the front.
· I called them the next morning (because they were already gone when I called on Wed.) and found out that the designer had pulled the wrong cover option off the file because there were two—one I used for Intuition's cover and the one I want to use for Indebted's cover. (The odds were fifty-fifty and I guess he was feeling lucky.) · So since it's their mistake, they're going to fix it fast and get it to me sooner than the 5-10 days, right? WRONG! I couldn't get them to help me out like that. I guess at least I now know where I stand. (I think that they should know up front that they can't break me. I've already been toughened up by my attempt to get a literary agent. They're lightweights compared to that torture.) · In the words or Winston Churchill: You do your worst - and we will do our best.

Thank you for being so patient, Ashley! I checked my email a second ago and the cover wasn't there. I'm going to keep checking all day today (3/29/12) because today is officially 5 business days since I last spoke to CreateSpace. Get rested up because this book is approx. 416 pages (that's the 6 x 9 print book. I don't even know how long that translates in eBook but I suspect it's slightly less than twice as many pages). I really appreciate your excitement. It's so completely amazing to get a response like this from a reader. I feel so lucky. You are a wonderful person. Thank you!

Thank you, Shannon! I'm thrilled for you to read Indebted. I will tally your vote for Evie's affection squarely in Reed's favor (he'll like that). I think that you are amazing and so kind to tell you that you like the books. I am grateful. Just hang on a little longer and I'll get it published (sorry it's taking so long)! :D

Thanks, Marie! It must be my bad dodgeball karma paying me back. Although, I was never very good at dodgeball and usually the one out in the first round, so maybe not! :D I will keep checking my email today to see if they send me the cover. As soon as I know, I'll update you. Thanks for offering to be my heavy. I might call on you in the future for backup! YOU ROCK! :)

Hey Marine! You are so funny--don't cry! Ugh, but you're right, this cover has been difficult. I'm really surprised, too. I thought when I started this update blog that it would be sort of an homage to CreateSpace and that it would help other writers who were thinking of publishing. I still like CreateSpace because the end result (product) has been so professional in the past, but they are kind of treating me impersonally, which is unfortunate. I'll have to see what happens with this cover. Thanks for being supportive. I think you are AMAZING!!!

Amy... I'm so sorry that youre having so much trouble, but I am desperately looking forward to the release still, whenever it may be. You are an amazing writer and I refer your books to EVERYONE...including my other favorite authors, and they all love u just as much as I do! I would be thinking about taking my business elsewhere, your books are too amazing to not be taken seriously, as are you. Keep up the awesome work:)

Hey, Erin! Thank you very much for your sound advice! I appreciate your support. I'm not really sure what is going on with CreateSpace. They have been so good in the past. Maybe their volume is way up because writers are catching on to the fact that self-publishing is a viable option for them. I think we should go buy some stock in Amazon, because they are having trouble keeping up with demand (which means money). (CreateSpace is a division of Amazon.) I hope they can hire some people so authors don't become just numbers to them and they can continue to thrive. I am haunting my email because it's officially 5 business days. I hope my cover comes today. I'll keep you updated on it. Thank you for helping me spread the word about my books. I really think you are so special! :D

Natalie, you made me laugh so hard when I read this. Thank you for "obsessing" over my books! That is unbelievably awesome. I am floating on clouds! I bet you're a really great mom. I'm sure you've mastered the art of pushing the swing with one hand while holding the book/kindle in the other. (Or is it holding the bottle?) Just hang in there a little longer, we're almost there! (Truly, thank you for this comment. You have made my day!)

I'll try very hard not to explode I don't think my husband would be to happy about the mess lol. But I would love to learn more about your experience with createspace as I am thinking of self-publishing myself although the last few weeks of your posts have me a bit worried.

I am already following you on twitter. Thanks for the information that you have given me thus far though. I had no idea about createspace. I wrote one book about two years ago but I had no desire to try and deal with a publisher so it just sat in computer collecting digital dust. Now I finally know what to do with it. Thanks for all your help. 9/7/2012 04:46:35
Great site, was just reading and doing some work when I found this page
