Intuition: The Premonition Series (Volume 2) Coming Soon!

Okay, some of you out there may believe that I have deserted you because I haven’t posted a blog in over a month.  I apologize for leaving you alone for so long.  I have been working exhaustively on publishing my second novel and I believe it is now days away from print!  I hope that within the next two weeks (maybe less) the paperback version of Intuition: The Premonition Series (Volume 2) will be available for sale on Amazon.com.

This is a bittersweet announcement for me because the eBook version will not be available for two to three weeks after the launch of the paperback version.  (Grrr…right?  I know!  Sorry, that’s how I feel about it too, but this is how it works with my publisher.)  I want to give all of you the highest quality printing that I can, so when I see something that is incorrect, I have to pounce on it, even when it pushes the date of publishing out by weeks. (I have been pouncing a lot lately.  Quite frankly, I’m sick of pouncing.)

Bright side: If you buy the paperback version, you can see how pretty it is inside.  The chapter headings have an elaborate, scrolling font (same font as the cover), the pages are thick with a new-car smell to them, and the cover is sleek and glossy.  The eBook version doesn’t allow for the same font choices or I would make it pretty as well.  Not that it’s ugly, it’s just less embellished. (I hope I didn’t just give my eBook a complex.)

I am planning a book giveaway on Goodreads in honor of the launch of Intuition.  I will be working on that for the next couple of days.  I’m running out of time so I have to hurry!

If you are not a member of Goodreads, here is a link to the website:  http://www.goodreads.com.

It’s a free site.  Basically, this is how it works: you create a profile and then you rate some of the books that you have already read (like the classics you were required to read in school as well as the guilty pleasure romances that you never show to anyone).  After you do that, the computer’s algorithm begins to recommend books to you based on what you have read and what you like (it can do this because you have rated your books on a 5 star scale).  You can choose categories that focus on the genres you are in the mood to read.  It will provide you with lists of books for those categories.  Also, you are invited to join discussions on books that interest you and you may often parley with the authors who wrote the books.  (Unless the author is deceased, like Jane Austen, then you are out of luck without some kind of a supernatural medium, but I digress.)

Goodreads is really a unique site. If you are an author, like me, it puts you in touch with the people reading your books and gives you valuable feedback about what your readers liked, and sometimes more importantly, what they didn’t like (even when it’s hard to hear).  If you are already a Goodreads member and want to be my friend, please friend me!  I would friend everyone who reads my books, but Goodreads says it would make me look like a creepy stalker…and one never wants to look like a lurker.

Okay, there is another reason why I haven’t been writing my blog.  It is the simple fact that I have discovered tweeting.  I joined Twitter a little while ago, thinking that it was maybe a necessary evil to promote my book, and Oh, Holy Cats!  Twitter is a surreal journey down the rabbit hole…and sometimes it’s lunatic fringe.  Previously, I had only been interacting strictly on social network sites like Facebook and Google+, but once I joined Twitter, it felt like I was channel surfing between the movie Cocoon (Facebook/ Google+) and Dexter (Twitter).  I don’t mean that in a derogatory way (for either side).  Cocoon was a sweet sort of feel-good movie wherein encouragement is given to do the right thing.  (At least, that is my experience while interacting on those sites).  Twitter is dark and cunning and it sometimes tries to do the right thing, but it often times strays and becomes a wicked little monster with words that cut like razors…and I have an addition to words.  So, it has been a bit of a distraction.  Follow me on twitter @Amy_A_Bartol and I’ll follow you back! :)  (See what I mean?)
Other distractions in my life:  This really AMAZING song by ATLAS GENIUS entitled TROJANS

And this, HEY, HEY, NAH, NA, NA, NAH:  AWOLNATION’S Song entitled IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT
I did miss my blog, though, and I’m glad to be able to devote time to it again.  If you post a comment, I will respond to you.  I received a comment from one of my readers, which made me cry because it was so sweet.  (Thanks again, Melissa!)  I will keep updating my progress with Intuition and as soon as Intuition is on Amazon, I’ll let you know here first.  Then, I will post again when Intuition hits Kindle.  Until then, you can find me here:
