Hi! As promised, here's my first post to update you on my progress with Iniquity, volume 5 of the Premonition series. The pic above is to represent the new character in the story. Yes, there is a new character, and no, he's not in love with Evie. (I read your comments. I know you.) I want this blog to be like a journal so that you can get a glimpse into my mind as I write Iniquity, but I will try not to give too much away. I also want this to be interactive. You can ask me questions about my stories or writing or publishing or about the fact that I don't own any pets. Keep in mind, though, that I'm sort of busy so if I don't get back to you right away or if I miss your comment, I'm sorry. You'd probably like to get this book faster than you'd like to chat with me so...there's that. Top 5 questions: #5 Is this the last book in the Premonition series? Answer: I don't know, yet. I'm trying to make it the last book, but I tried to make Incendiary the last book and we see how that turned out. I'm what people in the industry refer to as a panster. I write by the seat of my pants. I'm often surprised by what happens in my own stories. I have "holy crap" moments while writing them just as you have when reading them. I love that. I tried to plot out the first book, it worked for about 5 chapters, and then I found I didn't really need the outline anymore because it was more fun to let the characters write it than to do it myself. (I know that sounds crazy, but if you're a panster, then you know what I'm saying.) The problem with being a panster is that I don't always know how it will end or when. I think I do this time, but when I get there, something may change to make the story continue. This frustrates a lot of readers, and for that, I'm sorry. Try having the characters in your head talking to you all the time. It could be worse--Brennus in line at the grocery store can be a terror. Or do they talk to you, too? Some people tell me that they can hear the characters, too. I love that. #4 Who will end up with Evie? I would never tell. You're welcome to state your case for who you'd like to see still alive or completely dead at the end. I make no promises. #3 Am I going to make these books into movies? LOVE TO! Recently, I've had a well-known producer contact me to inquire if my film rights/ television rights are available. It has all been very exciting and a nice dream, but that's still all it is at this point in time: a dream. Getting a book made into a movie or a T.V. series is kind of like being struck by lightning...so maybe I've just walked out into the rain and am standing in the storm? Anyone have a lightning rod? You know if a deal goes down, I'm all over my social networks amping it up, right? You will know almost the moment I do. #2 Will there be more graphic sex in Iniquity? I'm going to try to keep it at the same intensity level as in Incendiary. When I first published Inescapable, I marketed it as Young Adult. The series definitely falls into the New Adult category, however, because of Evie's age and stage of life. I have tried to ride the ragged edge of YA, using romance as my main focus. I will continue to do so in Iniquity. I have to admit that as the series goes on, it has become more difficult to adhere to the softer side of romance, especially with the subject matter of good and evil. I feel, however, that I owe it to my younger readers to be less graphic when it comes to the act of sex. Not to say there won't be sex in it, just that I'm going to walk a fine line with it. I can't please everyone. For that I'm sorry. I hope that you find the plot, characters, action, romance, and general badassery the most compelling reasons to read my books. #1 When is the Iniquity release date? I don't have one, yet. I know that totally reeks. I'm sorry!! I want to do the characters justice, especially if this turns out to be the last book. I don't want to rush the story because I gave readers a release date. I feel like you'll forgive me if I'm a little slow, but you'll never forgive me if I ruin the story by rushing it. If this was about money, I would've cranked these books out as fast as I could, chopped out half the story, and never talked to you. But that's not me. INIQUITY UPDATES: I worked most of the weekend on Iniquity. I stayed home alone while my family went to our neighbor's lake house "up north." (People in Michigan always say, "up north" to describe anywhere in Michigan that is north of their house. I don't know why. It's totally natural and logical to me because I was born in Michigan and everyone goes up north. You probably find it weird.) I wrote a vignette that involves Evie's past lifetime. It was so vivid to me that it felt like I was watching a Scorsese or a Spielberg movie. I could almost smell it. I wish I was a better writer and could describe exactly what I saw. I did my best. I hope it translates. The artist that crawled into my mind the entire weekend: Matthew Mayfield!!! His entire EP, Irons In The Fire, is eloquent. Listening to it makes me want to live in his world for as long as I'm allowed. Okay, so I gave my Facebook followers an Iniquity teaser yesterday. Most of you have already seen this one. I'll post more as we go forward. I will always try to warn you before you get to it so that you can opt out if you'd rather not read it. Thank you for reading my stories. I seriously think you rock!! Russell scrubs his face, still waking up before he points his thumb over his shoulder. “She’s in the library ignorin’ the hell outta me.” Anya appears soundlessly behind Russell. “Now I’m here, continuing to ignore you,” Anya says with a slight raise of her eyebrow. “The hell is welcome to stay where it is.”--Iniquity

DO. NOT. KILL. BRENNUS. If you kill him, I'm going to charge you personally for the amount of therapy I'm going to need. He and I share a vey intense love-hate relationship and if you take that away from us... it will not be pretty.

Kill Brennus already!!! That villian and the story has lasted too long. I almost stopped reading book 4 because of Brennus. I have a hard time believing that with all these powerful angels he has lasted this long. The story of Evie being captured by him is old.

Personally, I would love for there to be another book after Iniquity. I always feel a kind of loss when I get to the end of a series, and I'm not ready to be there quite yet with this series.....lol

Also, much to the dismay of those who have already commented, I would not be sad at all if brennus dies. He is evil and he needs to accept evies decision (like all the other guys always stalking her!) to be with reed.

Have to agree. She needs to end up with reed. And brennus, love hate as it may be, is a god awful being. He either needs to GO or he needs to accept his defeat. Reed is the only one for her =]

Yay. SO happy to have updates. I say, you do you and we will wait patiently for what comes next! I would hate to rush the creative genius that has brought us the previous 4 books. They were all PERFECT and if it takes longer to accomplish that same genius, that have at it. I, personally, am not going anywhere. I guess I am a pleasure delayer. --- probably why I have a thing I cant shake for Bren! ;)

I would love you to continue writing as many books as it takes to complete Evie's, et. all, story :) Each and every book is a new insight or chapter that has it's own personality, so there isn't a single book that I would leave out or have left out when I go back for a re-read. Thanks for making such memorable characters and moments!!!

Thank you for the update. It would be great to see these books as movies or TV series. I love the characters. Please please keep Evie with Reed. They have been such a great love story to not end up together. Would be great to see Brennus, Finn and Molly saved as well. Love this series have read each book twice and will read again I'm sure. You're a wonderful author! I look forward to your future as a reader. I like that you have the ability to be in the heads of your characters and have it translate to us. Thanks for keeping the modest sex as one can overdose on 50 Shades if needed. Also, thanks for taking your time with your books as they're a success so I'd say your judgement is spot on. Thanks for all you do!

I love that, as an author, you take the time to interact with your fans and readers! I cannot sit here and tell you who Evie should end up with because I am so torn! The only thing I'm set on is that I hope Evie can find a way to turn the Brennus and the rest of the Gancanaugh back into fairies. And movie versions of my favorite books tend to disappoint me. I hope if this happens, the actors that are chosen fit the roles and that they don't exclude too much of the books! They are too amazing to chop them up!!!

I need Brennus to die in the final book... whenever that may be. I think it's because I need the closure. No 'what if's?" Let's face it - he's the bad guy. Not meant to win the girl. But as for Evie - I'm torn on who she should end up with - Xavier or Reed. I like Reed - I do. But with so many new characters getting introduced into the series... Xavier, Tau, Anya - there hasn't been enough time to focus on Evie and Reed. Alone. Together. They always seem busy - apart from one another.

I'm already trying to decide who should play Evie, Reed, Russell, etc. In your movies (talk about getting the cart ahead of the horse!). I am also really interested in reading more about Brownie & Preben and would love to see where that leads! AND IF ANY CHARACTER SHOULD BE "ENDED", it should definitely be Brennus- he deserves it more than anyone else! I'm also grateful that you're keeping it PG-13, I was going to cry if it wasn't! ;-) You're talented, thank you for sharing your imagination with us & keep the books coming -- YOU ROCK AMY!

Evie and Reed have to be together, they are perfect for each other. There are so many beautiful moments shared by them in this series.I wouldn't cry if Brennus ceases to exist, but if he must still be undead, then give him his own mate, not Reed's. I don't trust Xavier. I feel he is shady. I can not wait to read # 5.

First off, I love your books so much! I hope Iniquity is not the last book in your series because I can't seem to get enough of the story and the characters! One of the questions up above that you answered was talking about the graphic sex in the next book, in all honesty, in Incendiary at the end of the book when they reunite, Reed and Evie's sex scene was more graphic but I like that! I think it shows more of the passion and love they share for each other. Because it was more descriptive like that, I could feel their passion and love more so then in any of the previous books. Keep going with your gut and doing what you're doing Amy! Your books are inspiring and I cannot wait for the next one!

Brennus. So yummy. I hope he stays. To me he is the most sensual and sexy character and if I could actually describe how tall, dark and sophisticated he looks in my mind I think I could change some of your minds on whether our not he should stay. After your final book, whenever that may be :), I think it would be a neat idea to continue a story line with the other characters. Where do I begin? I just recently ran into this series & devoured the books in just over a week. I feel as if the characters are my family. People I know. I'm having vivid dreams of Angels & undead beings. I have a secret LOVE for Brenn. I cannot deny it. I want to hate him, especially because of the things he's done.. but I. Just. Can't. I can't decide who I want Evie to be with. Sometimes I just want her to be with Reed & that's it. But then there is Xavier with his hot kisses & guardian Angelness. Ahhh.. I just want to read the 5th book. I yearn for it. You fail to disappoint, so I trust you & am sure everyone will love your choice for Evie's love. I ache for the ones who will lose her to, most likely.. The Dreamboat Power Angel. Or will it be the undead Faerie.. ? Naw. The Guardian. Hmmmm. No.. It has to be Reed. Right? ;) Well.. I guess it's time to re-read them so I can once again be blissfully lost in their world.
