WE ARE STILL SET FOR AN END OF MARCH RELEASE OF INDEBTED. So just like this amazing song by KINGS OF LEON: IT'S COMING CLOSER: · Here's the latest news: I submitted corrections to Indebted's PDF (interior format) today. That means that within five business days I should get another PDF proof of the book. Once I approve that one, the publisher will print the first copy of Indebted and send it to me in the mail for final approval.
· The cover is sort of a sore subject with me right now. I couldn't seem to explain my vision for the cover to the designer. I take full responsibility because I'm a writer and I should be able to describe in words what I want, but it just never came across to them based on what I've been getting for mock-ups. It came to a point in the process that I was afraid that the cover was looking "self-pub." Don't get me wrong; I am self-pub. I will own that all day and into the next; I just don't want you to be able to point to my cover and say, "Ahhhh, self-pub." I pay for it to be done professionally, so it should look professional. I know that my covers are not the norm anyway. I am aware of the genre for which I write. I'm supposed to have some smoking-hot guy on the cover—or a very beautiful girl in an elaborate ball gown walking though a field or conversely draped over a chair—or a kick-ass, tatted vixen in a leather outfit who is ready to smack the taste out of your mouth. Sex sells. Beauty is everything. I get it. But, I don't know...done and done, right? If I do it too, then I don't stand out. Not to say that mine are cutting-edge covers. I mean a feather is hardly original, especially when it comes to the kind of story I write, but there is still something about it that appeals to me. It is very, very simple—and simple is difficult for me. I find simple a challenge. Simple is appealing in another regard: because size does matter. Sometime simple comes across better when the image is small, like in an eBook ad. I am primarily an eBook author (for now, anyway). If the cover is complicated, it doesn't seem to come across as well. I am also hoping for a more universal appeal. Maybe it will appeal to others outside of the genre as well—more of a crossover book. (Marketing executives are clutching their sides right now from laughing so hard at me.) Anyway, I scrapped the cover they were working on. I called a halt to it yesterday. I'm going with the alternate mock-up from Intuition. I remember really liking it when I had to choose between the two last time. I don't get that feeling now, but I think it's because I'm really disappointed that I couldn't explain myself well rather than it not being amazing. (Sorry, bored yet?) As soon as I get the jpeg of the cover, I'll post it so you can see it. · I'm NOT going to dwell on the cover. I'M GETTING SUPER EXCITED FOR INDEBTED! I JUST READ THE LAST CHAPTER! I WANT TO TELL YOU RIGHT NOW WHAT HAPPENS, BUT I CAN'T! UGH! I'M DYING! ONLY A COUPLE MORE WEEKS AND YOU CAN READ IT FOR YOURSELVES! IT'S COMING CLOSER!

Me again. Haha. I just wanted to say that I'm sure the cover will be amazing just as much as your books are and I'm so excited it's almost published!! :D And thank you for all the hard work you're doing! :) Oh, and how many books will be in this series? Because if this is the last I might cry. Hahaha. They are too spectacular to end! :)

Hi, Briana! I've already written 4 books for The Premonition Series. (So no tears! Yay!) Indebted will be out soon and then I plan to start the publishing process for Incendiary (book 4) immediately afterward. (So we get to do this all again late spring/early summer. You'll be able post a comment on 4 and say, "Remember when we were waiting and doing the exact same thing for book 3?" I have some definite thoughts for a 5th, but it could end at 4. The problem is that the characters keep talking to me about where they want to go from here. They want to keep going because there is so much story left to tell. (And isn't that just the best problem to have?)

I found your books on my kindle, and I really enjoy them! I'd say if you feel you need 5 books don't rush the story, because it will be worth it in the end. I think your books will become more popular as they become known. Just don't make us wait too long:-) also I'm glad you didn't put a hot guy or kick ass girl on the front! It lets the reader imagine the characters. I like a simple cover.

I think the covers that you have are fantastic!! It is out of the ordinary and I love it. Whatever you choose I'm sure it will be fantabulous! Your covers are so much cooler than covers with the sex appeal on the cover, I really don't like the books with people on them. Keep up the great work and don't get discouraged! Everything will turn out perfect in the end.

ME EITHER! I love the collage you made of Inescapable. I posted it on my pinterest art board. (I hope this is the same Bre, or this might get awkward!) I joined Polyvore, but there is a learning curve that I'll have to deal with before I post anything. (I really hope this is the same Bre!) Thank you supporting me. I feel SO loved! Do you have a tumblr site? I do it's http://amyabartol.tumblr.com/. We could hangout there, too :D

I am a huge fan of this series and just wanted to tell you that because of your cover's simplicity, I started reading this series. When I'm looking for books to read I skip right past the ones with overdone covers. So overall, i think you should keep doing what you're doing. And once again, I am such a fan of this series. I haven't been this excited for a book to come out in a while :) With that being said, PLEASE hurry! Oh and I too will cry if this is the last book in this series.

Hi, Becky! Don't cry! I have 4 books already written. Book 3, Indebted, should be out soon and book 4, Incendiary, will immediately follow in late spring/ early summer! And the characters keep talking to me because there is still so much story left to tell, so don't be surprised if there is more coming. I will hurry though. I know how important this is :) You are seriously awesome! Thank you for taking the time to leave me a note. I appreciate your comments on the cover. It's hard to know what other people like. It's very cool when they tell me!

I stalk this website every day waiting for updates because I'm so in love with this series, and I'm dying from anticipation waiting for this next book! I'm so in love that I can't go a day without re-reading the series and getting wrapped up in the world and characters you've created. It's an absolutely amazing feeling to be able to find a series that I can lose myself in and not get bored of it or force my attention just to finish the books, I haven't found a series like this in so long, it's refreshing to find. Don't get bogged down from the little things that have gone wrong, we all know from these updates just how dedicated you are and how hard you're working on this book, and it's great to see that in an author. You're amazing and I'm positive this book will be as well!! "In the end everything will be okay, if it's not then it's not the end" :)

Paula, let me just start out by saying that I had goose bumps when I read your post and when I came to the end of it, I choked up. You are so kind and articulate. I think I really needed to hear that everything will be okay. Next, let me say that you should write. It's there in your words, and if you already do write, then you should publish, and if you are published, I want to read it. Then, I'll be stalking you and wouldn't that be even better than cake? :D

That quote has pulled me through every time I've ever felt down about something or whenever I've felt like my world has begun to crumble, so I'm happy that those simple words could help you in some way as well. I didn't expect my words to cause you to choke up a bit, but it's a good feeling to know that my words actually meant something. You're telling me that I should write caused my heart to stop for a few seconds. I've always dreamt of writing, but I've never had the guts to let myself follow through with my dreams. The closest I ever get is allowing myself to get lost in thought while freely typing it into the note section on my Facebook page, and even then I rarely allow myself to go through with hitting submit because I'm afraid to get my hopes up and have nobody bother to care or react to it. Having you tell me that I should write is the greatest complement I could ever receive! Thank you so much! I think maybe now I'll allow myself to let go of my fears, and pour my heart and head back into my dream. After all, who needs cake when you can have your favorite author read a book you wrote :) Looks like I have a goal to accomplish for the future!

Amy....I never blog and rarely read HOWEVER, I read both of these books in this series in two days. My family may be happy the next one is not for sale yet so I will take care of them again. I was curious.....is there a way to pre-order the book so get it on release day? I have to agree with everyone that you truly are so very talented. I am finishing my degree at a local university and as this was spring break I allowed myself the luxury of buying a few books and these were recommended. WOW I have been passing the recommendation out since. Thank you.
