Hi. By now you've noticed that summer is over and I haven't published Iniquity. There is a reason for that: I'm not finished writing it. Because of this, I owe you all an apology. I hate missing deadlines. I try really hard to manage everyone's expectations; I failed in that this time. I'm truly sorry from the bottom of my heart for it not being ready. I can make excuses for it, but it really comes down to one simple reason: I won't put out a book unless I'm absolutely in love with it. This story has been my life for almost 6 years. I want it to be as close to perfect as I can make it. Therefore, I'm going to postpone the release of Iniquity until early 2014. If I get it finished and edited before then, I'll move the date up and we can all party our brains out. If not, I think that will give me enough time to do what I need to do to make it exactly what it needs to be. I owe you an amazing story after all of your dedication to these books. I know how disappointing this is. Please feel free to vent your frustration here. I'm not trying to torture you. This is not a marketing strategy, in fact, I'll probably lose fans over this. I want this book to exceed all of your expectations. It has to have passion, romance, danger, betrayal, intensity, gut-wrenching sorrow, life-affirming love, suspense, and in the midst of all of that, it has to have the type of humor that makes you laugh out loud, even when you're feeling hopeless. In order to do that, I need more time. I've made another decision regarding publishing. I had intended to publish the first book in my Kricket Series entitled Under Different Stars after the release of Iniquity. It's a Young Adult/Dystopian novel. I've now decided to bump up the release date for it to either November or December of 2013. I've been working on getting an amazing cover for it for the past month. To show you that I'm not a heartless monster, I'll give you another teaser from the story, so you can see that I'm really dedicated to telling this story. This is a Reed and Evie teaser. TEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASE TEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASE TEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASE TEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASE TEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASERTEASE My hand stills. I panic. Time could change us, like it had with Xavier and me. I feel like my heart unravels, but I don’t let him see it. “One day, Reed,” I begin dabbing at his cheek again, “you and I will get in the car and just drive. We’ll wander from silver cities to golden coasts.” I use an alcohol swab to clean the blood from his cheek. “And we’ll sleep when we’re tired and when we wake, I’ll find a way to make you laugh and I’ll live in the sound of it.” My throat gets tight because I long for that day to be now. “We’ll find somewhere you’ve never been and we’ll make it ours—fill it with memories of us. That’s what I want.” I finish with the alcohol swab. Leaning close, I gently blow on his healing wound to ease the sting. Reed takes my hand and brings it to his lips, kissing it tenderly. “And when we get that sleep, there will never be a your side or a my side of the bed—we’ll always meet in the middle. And when I hold you there, in our bed, you’ll let me rest my lips here.” Reed lets go of my hand to move his thumb to caress the sensitive skin of my neck just beneath my ear. I get swept up in him: my body his with one touch. I turn and rub my cheek gently against his palm. “And we won’t rush...ever,” I murmur, forgetting to be scared for a moment as I kiss him. I want that future with him. “The world can spin around us but we’ll take our time, savor every moment.” My head rests on his shoulder. “Just you and me.” He kisses the top of my head. “I doubt Buns or Brownie will allow that.” Iniquity

OMG! I love Reed but after Russell told Evie what Reed did in the previous book about binding them I could just die.. Reed points went down. I think that Evie is not giving Xavier that chance to show that they really were in love. This isnt even a love triangle anymore! Its a pentagram or whatever!!!! Too many people in love with Evie and too many people stuck with other people!!!! I truly cant wait for Iniquity!

Good to know I'm not the only one who doesn't care for Reed. He's much too boring in my opinion. And what him and Evie seem to have is more of a physical connection than anything else. I hope that Inquity shows us a deeper relationship between them, because it seems pretty obvious that Reed is the one she will end up with. That's why I enjoy all of the love triangles. It's fun to see Evie have relationships with guys that are actually fun and interesting. I will always be team Russell but since that probably isn't gonna happen with Anya in the picture, I'm still hoping Xavier can somehow snatch her up.

You are definitely not alone! The whole relationship seems contrived to me. Soul mate link severed, guardian angel(s) conveniently called up just as she leaves for college, and then then the whole butterfly connection so she becomes obsessed with the one angel that is at the college. Way too coincidental for true love. Feels like everyone is getting played. Makes it hard to know who to root for, but I am definitely not rooting for Reed.

But it's always worth waiting for, I'd rather have it take longer and be perfect. Than it being on time and be disappointing. True fans will stick with you throughout it all :) honestly I am so torn over who I think Evie should end up with.. But I can't wait for it to be November already :D

I let my other projects overwhelm me. I have other manuscripts that I'm writing that want to take center stage, but when I try to push them aside to write Iniquity, they keep pushing back to the front of my mind. So, it's not writer's block so much as other story ideas getting in my way. Does that make sense? I've been spending a lot of time on other aspects of the publishing, too--you'll notice I have audiobooks/MP3s/CDs of all my books now. A lot of work went into making that happen. Also, I spend a lot of time marketing, promoting, creating swag and merchandise. It's getting to the point where I have to admit that I need help managing my workload. All I really want to do is write.

Countless sleepless nights trying to get word counts in all the while trying to attend book signings so that the fans can get a book signed, and have the ability to be able to have a conversation with one of their favorite authors. All of this besides your day to day activities, and not to mention the time away from your own family! What you do is amazing, and the books that you write are worth the wait. Please don't feel bad about missing the deadline, you have been extremely busy, and your fans understand without a doubt how passionate you are about this series and other series to follow. Missing a deadline is not the end of the world, and the good thing about it for us fans is that we can re-read the series all over again:) keep your chin up! xoxoxo

I disagree with everyone that doesn't like Reed. Russell has someone, so he is off the market and that's a good thing. Brennus is a freak, who should die. Please kill him. I love your books but I hate that its taking you so long to kill him off. Xavier should find someone new. I got the impression that if God wanted Evie and Xavier to be together he would have not called him back to Heaven. Evie chose Reed while on Earth not in Heaven. It was entirely her free will. That's exactly why she decided to take the mission to come to earth with a soul as an angel, to choose who she loves. If Evie and Reed don't stay together, Reed would cease to be. Reed would not have drugged or tied up Evie like Xavier did. Xavier seems to be obsessed with the past. But Evie has changed and so has the circumstances. So Xavier has no leverage with Evie. If Russell could find a new love over his soul mate then Xavier can find an aspire that isn't Evie. PLEASE AMY!!! The fifth book hasn't even came out yet and I already feel like I want to throw it at the wall.

Hey so I know that as an author you must understand getting so caught up in a book you become a part of the story and know that it's torture not knowing what will happen. The fact that anyone would not want Reed to be who Evie ends up with blows my mind. He has been there for her through everything and he loves her with every piece of himself even though she is always torn in different directions by her confusing feelings for others. Please bring her back to reality in Iniquity and have her realize it's him because her constant confusion is soo frustrating and annoying. They always find their way back to each other, not letting any force in Heaven, Hell, or on Earth keep them a part. Their love is powerful and all consuming and for her to constantly disrespect it with her infatuation with others is just plain wrong. Your books are incredible and I can't stop reading them. I've become so attached to the characters at this point and I admire Evie so much, but her callousness mars my admiration. And she's being just plain STUPID. Please give them a happy ending for me. All of that aside...Don't ever stop writing, you are so talented! Finish Iniquity soon please! It's killing us.

I've been waiting for so long, what's another couple months, right? And the first time I read them, I loved Brennus and wasn't a fan of Reed. But by the second time I read them, it's been Reed all the way. I get literally angry whenever I see Xavier's name haha

I have a problem. I absolutely love Reed and I would cry if they weren't together. I like Xavier because you can tell he really loves and cares for her as well as Tau and Cole. I hope it's a happy ending for all the good characters in this book. I hope Xavier and Tau and Cole get to stick around in Evies life. I've become attached to them. But Reed has been Evies everything and I'm just full with mixed emotions!

Well you know I'm a true fan when I'm more excited about the next installment of this series than graduating in 2014!!! Iniquity will be the perfect graduation present and of course I don't mind waiting, more time to reread the series!

Don't stress over the deadline. I've followed your books from the beginning and shouted from the rooftops to Readers and authOrs alike how gReat your books are. For the record I've always been a Reed fan however I would like some backstory since he is obviously ancient and we are getting that with the other characters but not so much him. Still can't stand Xavier! I just finished your new book Under Different Stars and of coUrse I am obSessed with it. I think I'm actually looking foRward to the next book in that series more than iniquity! I know right... Crazy! BUT I Knew all your books so don't stress and Just keep leTting those creative juices of yours flow. Your amazing and I will stick with you no matter what as all your TRUE fans who know how to appreciate Real art in the form of Words will. ♡Your most loYal obsessive borderLine stalker fan...Erin

I know I'm a lay person here a reader and no more... But perhaps you are putting excessive pressure on yourself to make it the best. We all just want a happy ending... I don't think anyone can expect you to make rocky 5 !
